I actually really liked this book of romance It was fun not to just follow the young maiden who is at the right age to find a husband This story dealt with two ladies One is a paid companion to her niece and the other the young and spirited niece I liked that both ladies had minds of their own and were not easily swayed by fortune or opportunity This is the first book of a series that had been going on already and I will catch up on the others I enjoyed the detail of the countryside and London I also enjoyed the look into society and what is expected and when you are considered on the shelf I liked that most of the book took place in Scotland and in the country The men involved seemed lovely matches but a bit clueless as to go about winning a fair maidens hand I also loved the ending I was happy for all involved in the story and glad that problems were able to be addressed and solvedIt was a very good read with a Christmas back ground It was an innocent regency romance with a good storyline Mars Science Laboratory of Miss Isobel Paley from The Secret Bluestocking is the perfect example Max Y La Fiesta De Adopcion/ Max and the Adoption Day Party (Read-It! This book is slow and dull with a lot of talking about events and people instead of giving them a scene of their own eg one of the two sets why two one might wonder I did of heroinehero have their entire engagement wedding and onward mentioned as a fait accompli I find this uninspiring I supposes this antiuated approach a la Heyer pleases some but not me I debated giving 3 stars because it is adeuately written even if poorly plotted but could not do it
